What are Fractures?
A fracture occurs when the tissue of the bone gets broken. Typically shortly after a fracture happens, the affected area begins to swell. Getting treatment immediately will help keep damage to a minimum and aid in a quicker recovery time.
The following symptoms can help you distinguish a fracture from other injuries:
- A snapping sound at time of impact
- Shape or size difference
- Redness in affected area
- Movement produces a grating sensation
- Cannot put weight on it
- Painful when moved
- Painful to the touch
- Involuntary muscle spasms
