What are Fractures?

A fracture occurs when the tissue of the bone gets broken. Typically shortly after a fracture happens, the affected area begins to swell. Getting treatment immediately will help keep damage to a minimum and aid in a quicker recovery time.

Fracture Symptoms

The following symptoms can help you distinguish a fracture from other injuries:

  • A snapping sound at time of impact
  • Shape or size difference
  • Redness in affected area
  • Movement produces a grating sensation
  • Cannot put weight on it
  • Painful when moved
  • Painful to the touch
  • Involuntary muscle spasms
